Description
What is The Weaver?
The Weaver is an initiative by me, Ananya Singh who aims to make it a part of all contributors willing to send in their work for publishing in the magazine.
Focusing on variety and inclusion of all types of work, the magazine was named ‘The Weaver’ because of the word’s varied meanings. A Weaver is a species of a bird, a representation of a spider weaving a web, a person who does handicraft thereby creating new and unique objects of perfection, and of course, a reference to the mythological aspect of Athena, the goddess of knowledge, who invented the loom and the spider. All these are depictions of creativity and the ideals we believe in: the strive towards perfection, freedom of thoughts, sharing of knowledge, and the honing of talent. The Weaver is the product of a wish to provide a voice to the talent out there.
We cover a plethora of writing styles and topics, including but not limited to, current topics (news), scientific facts and explanations, jokes, riddles and puzzles, new film/series/book releases and reviews, interesting and unknown information, and the creative work (art, poems, stories, reviews, critical appreciations, informative texts) of the many talented individuals out there. We believe that children are more likely to know the current interests of their peers and are more open to suggestions and changes.
Come, let us weave together a magazine for children, by children!
